How to Upload Videos on YouTube

 To post (upload and publish) videos on YouTube, follow these steps based on your device:

From a Computer

  1. Sign in to your YouTube account and open YouTube Studio.

  2. Click the CREATE button (camera icon with a plus) at the top-right corner, then select Upload videos.

  3. Choose the video file(s) you want to upload (up to 15 at a time).

  4. While the video uploads, add details like title, description, and tags.

  5. Set your video's privacy: Public, Unlisted, or Private.

  6. Click Publish to make the video available to viewers (uploading alone does not publish).

  7. YouTube will process the video for playback on all devices.

From a Mobile Device (YouTube App)

  1. Open the YouTube app and tap the Create (+) button at the bottom.

  2. Select Upload a video.

  3. Choose the video file and tap Next.

  4. Add title, description, and privacy settings.

  5. Tap Upload to publish the video.

  • Videos 60 seconds or less with square or vertical aspect ratio may be uploaded as YouTube Shorts.

  • You can also record a video directly in the app by selecting Record from the Create menu.

Using the YouTube Studio App (Mobile)

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app.

  2. Tap Create (+) at the top and select Upload a video.

  3. Choose your video file.

  4. Add video details, set privacy, and specify if the video is made for kids.

  5. Tap Upload video to publish

Additional Notes

  • Uploading means transferring the video file to YouTube; publishing makes it visible to viewers.

  • You can change privacy settings anytime after upload.

  • Posting videos on YouTube is free, but you must follow YouTube's community and copyright guidelines.
